Go Twins!

We got to go to a twins game tonight. It was a nice night out with the Gendreau's! We left the younger boys at home.

Slowly Improving

Dylan is slowly getting better. A little more appetite and a little less fever today. Still far from himself though. Cayden is loving all the extra movies he gets to watch as we try to keep Dylan on the couch to rest and relax! Thanks for all the well wishes! It's great to hear from you on the blog.

I was looking back at all the pictures I have to rename and found this fun video I thought I would share (since the news on the blog has been so down lately). So here's a quick glance back to a fun time in June when the weather was spectacular and Cayden was having a blast playing in the hose!

Home for a good night's sleep

We got out of the hospital last night about 8 o'clock. Since they didn't get an IV in for Dylan they weren't really doing any treatment that we couldn't do at home. Since he had shown a little improvement all day the Dr. said it was pretty much our call. We figured it would be much less stressful for him at home.

It was a tough hour or so before bedtime because Dylan was exhausted from all the fighting in the hospital - everything from milk to TV was a crisis. Cayden played hard with his friends yesterday so he was also tired and whiny. Once we got everyone to bed though - we never heard a peep out of anyone all night. So the good news is that everyone got a long night of sleep (and is still sleeping).

We will definitely be laying low for the week to give Dylan some time to recover (hopefully). Our pediatrician said this isn't the kind of thing they just bounce back from...it's much more gradual, kind of like mono.

Recap - still here

After 3 chest x-rays, 2 attempts at oral drugs (one of which was promptly rejected), 3 LONG attempts at getting an IV started (all failed), 3 shots in the legs, and 3 nebulizer sessions - Dylan is very confident that he doesn't like anyone wearing a name badge and all he wants to do is "go home". He hasn't "turned the corner" yet so we are evaluating today whether or not we need to stay another night. Since he doesn't have an IV in he's not getting much more treatment here then he could at home. Except that they do have him on a monitor to watch oxygen levels and heart rate.

This is a picture of him resting with a new monkey that Grandad and Mimi sent. You can definitely tell the life isn't back in his eyes yet.

Cayden is spending the morning with the neighbor girl (Hadley) and he will spend the afternoon with either my sister (Shelly) or our babysitter who was planning on coming at 2:30 already. He was very excited to go to Hadley's and bring his new lady bug board game that he got from the Stolp's.

Mom, Dylan, and Dad are all VERY tired...right now Mom and Dylan are getting a good nap after lunch (which Dylan didn't touch).

More later...CCV

Our own room

After lots of pokes and tears we have been admitted and given a room. They think Dylan will get better soon but want to keep him until he tuns the corner. Sounds like it would only be today.

Wee hours of the morning

We've had many tests and tears so far. No real change in diagnosis though. We are waiting around for the x-rays to come back. Dylan and Jan are tring to get a little rest in the pic.

Dylan has definitely adopted an "us and them" mentality though. :) And every time he sees one of "them" he starts crying and repeating "All done. All done."

Poorguy - it's been a LONG day.

Not getting better

Well, little Dylan seems to be getting worse. His breathing rate has incresed since we saw the Dr. tonight. Jan called the nurse's line and we determined that we needed to bing him in to the ER tonight. We will post more when we know more.

Thanks mom for coming to the house on such short notice!

Hunch

Well…Jan had a hunch. So I got a text after Cayden’s swimming lesson that said we were off to Urgent Care for Dylan for the umpteenth time. She was right – little man has pneumonia. :(

Sick kid

Poor Dylan is sick, sick, sick. :(

There isn't much worse as a parent then to see the life sucked out of your kid - and then they look at you with those poor, sad, sick little eyes.
Breaks my heart.

Sleeping in

So Jan decided to sleep in today until the boys woke her up... Sooooooo, Cayden wondered into the bedroom to wake her up AT 10 O'CLOCK!!!!

Rough...

Week of Fun in Cody

The four of us flew out to Cody, Wyoming, my home town, last Friday to spend the long holiday weekend with my Mom and Dan, and Grandma and Papa, and T.Jay, Tennyson, and Paige.

Chris and TNT only stayed for the weekend :( and the boys and I get to stay until this weekend! We are having a great time.

Our days this week are spent with Grandma (while Granny B and Grampa Dan are working). She has been going on daily adventures with us and we've been spending time at her house too. We have gone to a few parks, bowling, we tried to go play putt putt today but they were closed. The boys have played in the newly refurbished Sheep Wagon, made homemade ice cream with Grandma, played lots of UNO, Go Fish, and the new fav Hungry Hippos, gone for rides on the new kids size 4 wheeler, and shhhhh...Mommy and Granny B have been letting the boys "drive" a short distance from the house each night. They really get a kick out of it. Now every time Dylan gets in his seat he says "No, Drive, Drive!!".

Tomorrow we are going to the Buffalo Bill Museum, Friday to Thermopolis to swim in the hot springs (Granny B is coming too!!) and Saturday we plan to take the annual trip to Red Lodge. Granny B says there's a fun wildlife exhibit there for the kids.

Here are a few pics from the week so far. I want to put so many more up, but I always get bottle necked by the upload limit per post (grumble grumble). Maybe I will just add some more each day.

Oh! One other piece of exciting news for me! I finally found a pair of cowboy boots that I LOVE! Look out Minnesota friends!!! hahahaha

Love to all! We miss you Daddy!

Jan and the boys

Saying goodbye to Kelsey

This post is a little late since we have been busy trying to get ready to come to Wyoming. But last week we had to say goodbye to our awesome babysitter Kelsey. She is headed off to the U of M for college and can't help watch the boys while Jan works anymore. :(

Cayden wanted to throw her a "going to college" party for her so we took her out to eat at Benihana's (her favorite restaurant) and then went to Chucky Cheese's for some games afterward. The boys had a lot of fun!

Goodbye Kelsey and good luck at college! You're always welcome to come back and spend time with the boys!! We'll all miss you.
