Fun Weekend

We had a fabulous weekend. We took the boys to the movie theater for the first time to see Toy Story 3. They loved it (minus the few scary parts).

Saturday I got up at o'dark thirty and took Bentley to the dog park. We had a nice peaceful walk pretty much by ourselves out there. After that I went and watched a triathlon to figure out what Jan is getting me into this August at the Maple Grove Dare to Tri!!! I had never seen one so I was a little worried. I feel better about the event now that I've seen it...but about these swim shorts.....maybe there should be a Bermuda Shorts section of people... :) We'll see if I conform.

Later Saturday it was down to Mankato for Amy Esser's wedding. The boys had never been to one and we told them about church, dinner, and then a party. They were excited about dancing at the party. There enthusiasm reached a fevered pitch once they saw the disco ball! Heck - just that morning Handy Manny had repaired a disco ball on TV! :)

They patiently waiting until they inhaled their dessert then sprinted for the dance floor. I don't think they left it until Dylan collapsed in my lap at 11:30!

Here was a very proud moment for me as and Uncle/Dad - I was keeping the boys and their cousins busy while waiting for dinner. (Dylan, Cayden, Justin, Jamie, Nora)

Bentley playing in the back yard.

He has ups - hopefully he never figures out he could make short work of our back yard fence.

Throw the ball...I dare you...

Cayden and his cousin Nora (Davis) cutting a rug.

Myself with my lovely bride of 11+ years! She too didn't leave the dance floor until I made her carry Cayden up to bed! :)

Weekend at the Cabin

We just spent a great weekend with our good friends the Bakkes at their cabin. The weather wasn't perfect but we had a blast anyway. We had time for fishing, fireworks, boat rides, a bonfire, games, watching the dogs swim in the lake, watch bald eagles, and take an excursion up a fire tower. All-in-all it was a fabulous weekend and everyone came home very tired!

Cayden continues to love fishing and couldn't get enough. Here he and Landon are with one of his many catches.

Dylan got into it for awhile also.

The fun part was that Lukas and Landon both caught their first fish this weekend! Way to go guys! Unfortunately, the pictures of them and their fish are on the Bakke's camera so you'll have to take my word for it. Plus the fish were huge - at least "THIS BIG". :)

Here is the fire tower - yes, we climbed it. In hindsight, I wouldn't recommend taking a 5 and 3 year old up there - safety was not their first thought when building these things!

The boys loved playing in the cuddy on the boat.

Spencer with his new ride!

Time out for some ice cream.

Jan and Jeanie enjoying the cruise around the lake.

Thanks a lot Bakke's - We had a blast!

Busy Month

It's been a busy month and I'm trying to play catch-up on the blog! Here is Cayden kickin' it and looking cool out at dinner one night.

Dylan finished his ECFE pre-school and here is a picture with his teacher.

Cayden finished his year in pre-school also and here is a picture with his teachers.

We had the annual get together with the Breuers, Stoffels, and Esterbys (all great friends from college). We made a trek up to Baudette, MN to stay at the Breuer's new house. We had a great time and the kids all got along great! Here is the whole crew of kids...

The boys were excited to be this close to Canada so we took a picture in front of the bridge to Canada. We also took them in so they could get their passports stamped. We only stayed about 15 minutes before coming back to the states - kind of funny.

While we were up in Baudette, Bentley got to go visit the Hon's cabin with Kota. He turned a new leaf and decided that he loved the water. When Jenny called us to tell us he was jumping off the dock into the lake we said, "No way...you need to get pictures to prove it!" She wasn't lying...

We have been in Denver the last four days to celebrate our niece Paige's second birthday and our other niece Reece's baptism (Jan is the God Mother). It's been a great time. The first day we went to the zoo. Cayden put his hand up to the glass and this gorilla wanted to touch it - pretty cool.

We didn't have all the cousins in the same frame this weekend, but from time to time a few of them would slow down enough to get a pic. Here is Tagg, Paige, Cayden and Dylan.

Abby, Cayden, and Dylan slowed down for dippin dots. You can see Dylan's falling on the ground as I took this picture. :(

Today we went into Boulder to visit the Pearl Street Mall to take in the music, street performers, people watching, and good food. Tyler and Paige stopped for a pic with myself and the boys in front of the sign.

Jan - the only person I have ever seen actually make change in a street performer's tip bag! :) To be fair - the cowboy said it was ok and he wasn't pulling his gun on her!

Cayden, Dylan, and Paige watch a fountain.

Cayden got to hold Reece a bit also - he always enjoys the baby cousins!

The plan is swimming tomorrow and back to MN on the plane at night...no more cool sunsets over the mountains.......
