True Boy

Cayden is a true boy through and through.  We were out back trying to play frisbee and he was distracted chasing every moth, grasshopper, frog, and picking mushrooms!  What a great summer day!!

MN State Fair!

We brought the kids to the MN State Fair yesterday and they loved it like true Minnesotans! They made it through nap and until 8 pm and they were still asking to do more things! I think we are actually getting to where we will have to go multiple days every year. We'll see since it is 9:30 and Dylan and Jan are STILL asleep!!!!!

We got to pet animals, ride the chair lifts over the fair, build toys at the Home Depot stand, climb on boats and tractors, and of course eat. One thing we found out is that it's nice with the kids because they want to try all our food so we don't end up as full. However I did have to sneak away while Dylan was napping in the stroller and Cayden was watching the parade to grab a deep fried Milky Way bar so I didn't have to share!!
The boys enjoying lunch.
Test driving a boat.

After a full year of training and preparation and of course a proper fair diet, Chris and Dylan take the giant slide competition by storm!!
Doesn't matter how tired you are (Dylan just woke up) a Sweet Martha's Cookie tastes great.
Petting the animals was fun too!
Life truly is good when you can crash after some hard fair-going!

Fun night

We had a great time tonight here in Colorado. The Lenz's and Martin's came over to T.Jay and Tennyson's house for dinner to let the kids bounce off the walls together for awhile. And boy did they bounce off the walls...and anything else around, including each other. But in the end there was no blood and everyone was still friends.

Here we are playing pile on the tickle monster (Chris on the bottom playing the part of the tickle monster, with Cayden, Brody, Brice, and Tagg on top):
Here are Brody, Cayden, Dylan, and Brice showing off their silly faces:
Here's Dylan laying on the floor resting with Caddis:

Release the critters

This weekend we finally let our butterflies and caterpillar go. We had a little release party back by the flower garden. It was a fun couple of weeks letting the butterflies grow up - thanks Grandad and Mima! The caterpillar came from Grandma Jo's garden and just stayed a couple of days with us - he sure was bright!

Bits and pieces

This is how I (Chris) feel on Monday's a lot!

Here is a great one of everyone at the cabin. We had a great time with the Gendreau's, Davis's, and Vokals (Dad and Amy) last weekend. Cayden and Matthew even rode in the tube behind the jet ski!

Here is a video of Cayden and Matthew jumping in off the end of the dock. They sure had fun and burned lots of energy!!

We have five new friends in our house courtesy of Grandad and Mima. They ordered the boys painted lady butterflies on the internet. It's been a pretty exciting life cycle to watch and this morning the last three emerged from their chrysalids! I know the picture is pretty blurry but I had to take it through the butterfly cage - they haven't learned to 'sit' and 'stay' yet! Fun facts on the painted lady: She tastes with her feet, has 10,000 eyes, and may travel up to a 1000 miles in her 2 to 4 week lifetime (you think if we let them go they would make it to WYO?).

That's all for now but we have a bunch of pictures to name and post in the pictures section soon - so keep looking for that.

What a ham

As we were driving down the road the other day we could hear Dylan making some funny noises in the back seat. We both turned around to see him doing this!! We laughed hard for quite awhile!

Ride on...

Today is a very sad day. :( Today I say goodbye to my motorcycle. Jan and I have put on lots of miles since we were married and I haven't been without a motorcycle since I was 16. It just doesn't make sense to keep it in the garage when I can't ever ride it. We'll get a new one in a couple of years when we have more time to ride again. In the meantime, I'll have to borrow some time on two wheels from my friends and families w/ bikes... At least I know it's going to a good home!
