We have reached a new milestone in our household.
Cayden was sick this Sunday so he spend a considerable amount of time watching football and movies. In my quest to get him to learn something from whatever he is doing I have been working with him on reading the buttons on the remote control.
Fast forward to tonight, the boys and I went to swimming lessons while Jan was trying to catch up on her work. We got home about 7:30 and all sat down to watch football. I was enjoying it – since the boys are both old enough to sit with dad and enjoy the game (mind you they are still only 5 and 3). Along about the first break Cayden looks at me and a matter-of-factly says, “Dad, can I have the remote?” For some reason he determined that I had been failing in my manly duty to control the TV. A little bewildered I pass it over to him just to see what he would do and he promptly mutes the commercial. “Those are too loud,” he says.

I guess control is passing on...

Next thing you know, Cayden will be channel surfing! I love it that the boys are interested in watching football! So cool.
Love my boys!
