Today was a sad day at the Vokal house. Our dog, Bella, who we adopted 3 months ago literally tomorrow, was surrendered to a WONDERFUL no-kill dog rescue group, www.alldogmn.org .
Some of you may or may not know that we had a biting incedent with Bella biting Cayden about 4 weeks ago, followed up by a few unpredictable moments with her either with the kids or with visitors that convinced us that maybe our home wasn't the right home for Bella. Although it hurt deeply to let her go, we knew in our hearts that it was the best thing for her because we just didn't feel she belonged in a home with small children.
I (Jan) have personally grieved for about a week. It has been tough. My heart is at peace though, knowing that she is in a good place. The all dog mn volunteer who came out to evaluate her, actually ended up switching her foster dog out, so that she could take in Bella, which I thought said a lot. I have faith that they will find her a good home with older kids or no kids where she can have a great life. Although it broke my heart (literally) to give her to someone else, I know it's the best thing for all of us.
Now, it's just the cleaning of the nose prints off the windows, the vacuuming of her last fallen hairs, and the picking up of her balls and toys left in the corners of the room that will bring a lump to my throat.
Thank you Bella, for a wonderful three months. You taught me how to fall in love, unconditionally with a dog. I only hope that we can find a new one whom we care for so much. My wish for you is a great life. Because you deserve it.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine having to go through that. We have had Scout the same amount of time, and already she is part of the family. Hopefully, you will find a match in the future. You had to follow your instinct. :)
We are so sad for you too.......in time we hope you can find another addition to your family that will be a perfect fit. It's good to know Bella's in good hands~
We are sorry to hear this. However, as a parent you have to do whatever to protect your child. I am sure they will find a great home for her and you will find the right dog for your family down the road.
Sorry to hear this news! ~Kelly
Tough days, great memories and Bella will be at peace as well. You have to believe that you did the right thing for all including Bella. When one door closes another one opens. Savor the great memories.
