Weekend in Chicago returning with a Bentley

Jan and I headed off to Chicago for a long weekend that involved a photography seminar. We had a great time and the weather was good about half the time. We got to spend some time with the Townsley's and visit both Blake and Cory's houses. Other than that we just got to enjoy each other's company.

After the temperature dropped about 30 degrees and we got a healthy downpour.

The rain made for some cool pictures on the bean in Millenium Park.

Jan's Dad and Josephine came to stay with the kids while we were out (THANK YOU!). I know the boys had a blast doing all kinds of experiments - The boys even taught me how they colored the tips of carnations and I witnessed it first hand.

Dylan enjoyed sharing ALL his monster trucks and Matchbox cars with Grandad while he tried to nap.

They got to take a fun trip to Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater.

And I'm sure you are wondering about the Bentley we brought home...

No it wasn't the car - we got a Vizsla puppy ("vee-shla") and named him Bentley (because he's a much fancier dog than we ever thought we would have...HA!). Things sort of fell in to place quickly for finding a new puppy. Jan knew she wanted to go with a Vizsla after doing research and finding a breeder we liked. We stopped at his place on our way home in Wisconsin and picked him up. We are very excited about having a dog around because Bella left us with a pretty big hole in our hearts. Bentley is obviously a lot more work then Bella was since he's a puppy but at least he will grow up with kids around so he will be used to it.

Jan making sure the dog isn't spoiled at all....

BTW - we have been getting updates on Bella from the foster family. She is doing great and adjusting to her new home well. They are confident that they can place her in a home without children.

He's very cute! Looks like lots of fun (and work)! :-) Glad Bella is doing well too.

Ahhh...that's the type of dog we had until a year ago when we had to put her down. They are wonderful dogs...a little touched but wonderful. Our Molly was great and is missed every day.

Enjoy!
