First 4th in Elysian

Happy 4th of July! We spent the 4th in Elysian at the cabin for the first time. After a short ride into town with about 20 people and one dog in a pick-up truck we all really enjoyed the parade! We looked like clowns getting out of the truck at the circus when we got there.

There was a lot of food, fun, sun, boating, fishing, and swimming going on at the cabin so we are all very tired now.

The boys loved the parade. They made a haul on the candy.

It was the first time watching fireworks from a lake for all of us. It was very impressive. There were so many private firework shows it was like watching a tennis match back and forth across the lake. We had three boats tied up together out in the bay. Here is a nice shot of our company out on the lake.

Cayden watched from Dad's lap.

Here is Dylan sitting with Grandma Jo for a while.

Now he hopped onto Mom's lap.

Bentley is getting to be a pretty darn good puppy lately. He at least acknowledges my existence a few time while I yell commands at him... We did find out that he is not fond of fireworks, boat rides, or water....Hmmmm - we'll have to work on those. Jan continues to re-enforce his belief that he is a lap dog despite the fact that he will eventually be 50 lbs.

Looks like everyone, including Bentley, had a great holiday! It is hard to believe that we are going into the shorter part of summer. Happy July to all!

Our Molly was a lap dog until the day she died...not by my doing but Cody's! We sure enjoyed our dog that was the same breed as Bentley...oh and, she never liked water...never!
