No, I'm not pregnant. :) But I bet I got some of you...hehehe
This morning we took a BIG step. We have been considering getting a four legged friend for a while now, but just hadn't pulled the trigger. Well, this morning we did. We adopted and gave a dog a new home from the Humane Society. We have a few neighbors who went through the same process and have great family companions, so we decided to take the plunge.
Her name is Bella. She's a Boxer/Hound mix. Very playful, minds well, so far is just a joy. She's one year old, was left because the owners could not take care of her anymore. :( She's a perfect size...about 45 pounds, may get a bit bigger. Loves to run and play (will be a great walking/jogging companion), etc...now I'm looking forward to spring. Her demeanor is playful but calm which is so nice. Not hyper and crazy. And we still haven't heard a bark. It did say on her sheet that she will bark at strange noises, but we have yet to hear it. Hopefully she will do that eventually just so she can be our watch dog to notify us of any interesting happenings. She sits, lays down, responds well to come, and plays fetch which we are really excited about.
We thought about renaming her, but looked through lists and lists of names last night and just didn't find anything as fitting. So Bella it is. Hopefully this is the beginning of a fun dog life for us!! If you have any must have ideas for us, let us know. The only thing we have purchased so far is a leash, a collar, and a chuck it (ball thrower).

I would recommend dog food too. She's cute! Seems like she'll be a great addition to your family!

She is gorgeous!! Congratulations! I know you already got a collar, but if you need to replace it LL Bean has collars that they embroider with the name and phone number. It eliminates a dangly, noisy tag on the collar. We love them!
She is BEAUTIFUL!!! Congrats! If you guys ever need a sitter, we'd be happy! Have fun :)
