Surgery is done

Bentley came out of surgery very well today. There may be a catch but for now he should recover to a happy healthy dog (less 25% of his lungs). The surgeon said that they can actually take out up to 60% if they have to - so we came out pretty good!

The down side is that he said Bentley has a lot of air sacs on his lungs that have burst and created bigger pockets. There is a chance that he has a disease that may cause him issues in the future so we will be back to see the surgeon in 3 months or so for more x-rays to see if the pockets have gotten worse.

On a side note - we did find out through a friend of ours in law enforcement that there was a call that came in exactly when Bentley was missing regarding a dog that was hit by a car and then running toward our neighborhood. We are almost positive that it was Bentley. At least we know what happened - even though it doesn't matter in how we treated him.
