What a beautiful morning the yesterday. Jan and I managed to get up before the kids and head out to the porch for a cup of coffee and to enjoy the morning sunshine. The porch seems worth the money again now that we can actually get out there once in a while.
I had to laugh on Sunday we had friends over for dinner. They showed up just in time to hear the tornado sirens! Guess that’s just normal for severe weather season in MN. So we sat around in the living room and kept an eye on the TV. We were actually going to grill but Jan said I didn’t have to after the torrential rains started! Fortunately we didn’t have anything that bad here in the Grove – but it was definitely a bad day for many places north of us. Every time I see the devastation on TV I am reminded of the time that we volunteered to help clean up after the tornado hit St. Peter. It is truly an amazing site to see the destruction that can be caused by weather. It was a moving experience to see people looking for important things through their houses which have been literally turned inside-out.
