Moving faster then the speed of decisions

We have been so busy every night that I can’t even log on to update everyone. It’s a busy night getting Cayden home from daycare, fed, writing a daily punch list for Scott (the general), and finding something for Cayden to do without getting in trouble (because there’s no place for him to play).

They have been working hard on siding, plumbing, and electrical. The siding is really coming along nice – they even got the shakes up on the front of the house. We love them!!! It looks like a totally new house when you drive into the culdesac. I’ll get some pictures up soon. They are also running the ducts for the air-conditioning. They have all of the vents in the new wing placed and will be relocating some in our upstairs today.

Communication and participation on our part has definitely increased! Trying to make sure that the plumber and especially the electrician are on the same page as us is difficult. If we end up with exactly what we want – it will be a miracle. Things get put up so fast while I’m away and work and Jan is stuck in her bed that it may not be what we want. That’s why we make the list every night – to keep them on the right track.

I can see why people get so upset with building/remodeling – if you don’t participate quite a bit, you end up with something you don’t expect and don’t want.

I’ve always told Jan that I have a much higher dust tolerance then she does – but this is even too much for me. I can’t wait until they are done and we can clean some of this up!!

We are working with the cabinet guy, Dean, and he is chomping at the bit to get started. This is what our cabinets are modeled after (w/o the top glass cabinets): Kitchen Photo

Have to run to have my morning meeting w/ Scott….

The kitchen cupboards are BEAUTIFUL!!!! When you say no glass on the top, do they go up that high but just doors instead of glass. They sure are going to be nice. I'm anxious to see the shakes too.
